We are the work of God’s loving hands. As we begin this Advent season, we confidently call upon God to help us and others in our time of need.

We pray for Pope Leo and the bishops of our Church. May their teachings encourage the people of our day to look to the Gospel as the words of eternal life.

We pray for the nations of the world suffering the horrors of war. May greater effort be made by all powers to restore peace to their lives.

We pray for each one of us, especially those who are apprehensive about life. May we come to a greater awareness of God’s unconditional love and care for us all.

We pray for our faith community. May we recognise the blessings given to us by God and gratefully acknowledge them.

Gracious God, hear the prayers of petition of your people today, especially those most in need. We ask this through Christ our Lord.
