Loving Father, as we gather here before you, we ask that you will hear our prayers and draw us closer to you.

We pray for Pope Leo and the leaders of our church. May they show our church to be a place of welcome for all comers.

We pray for the leaders of the Developed World. May they give generously of the riches they have to help those countries struggling for survival.

As we gather to celebrate the Eucharist today, we pray that, like St Paul, we will seek to proclaim your word and more fully do your will.

We pray for our faith community. May we, like the woman who prepared a room for the prophet Elisha, have a spirit of hospitality towards the people around us.
