Presider

St Paul tells us to do nothing from selfish ambition but, in humility, regard others as better than ourselves. In this spirit we present our petitions before God.

Reader

We pray for Pope Leo and all leaders of the Church. May their ministry be inspired by the ministry of Jesus, in his humble service to God’ s people.

Lord, hear us.
Lord, hear our prayer.

We pray for the leaders of our government. May the Gospel standard of humility be a challenge to those who claim to serve humanity.

Lord, hear us.
Lord, hear our prayer.

We pray for each one of us. Having been given the freedom to make choices, may we be aware of God’s will for us and respond accordingly.

Lord, hear us.
Lord, hear our prayer.

We pray for …

Lord hear us.
Lord, hear our prayer.

We pray for the sick of our parish and for those who care for them. We pray for those who have died recently and for all whose anniversaries occur at this time. May God welcome them into the eternal kingdom and give them the reward of their faithful service.

Lord, hear us.
Lord, hear our prayer.

Presider

Gracious God, extend your compassion and mercy towards all whom we have commended in prayer. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord, before whom every knee shall bend in heaven and on earth.
Amen.
