Through Christ’s resurrection, new light, life and peace have come into the world. With confidence, we offer our prayers of intercession to God, who changes all mourning into dancing.

We pray for Pope Francis and all leaders in our Church. May they be inspired to continually open up the Scriptures to reveal the Good News of the resurrection.

We pray for all who seek election to serve the nation. May the Holy Spirit inspire them to pursue a better politics that is wise and courageous and governs for the good of all.

We pray for all those in our health- and aged-care systems who bring comfort and healing to the sick, the frail and the dying. May God protect and uphold them in their important work, and may they be encouraged and well supported in their calling to serve the most vulnerable among us.

We pray especially today for all those in our health- and aged-care systems who are suffering from trauma or burnout in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic and the added demands that this crisis has placed on them. May our God of peace and mercy bring healing to the healers, meeting them in their deepest need.

We pray for our faith community. As we gather to share the Eucharist, may we, like the first disciples, recognise Jesus in both the Word and the breaking of bread.
