Liturgical notes

In the celebration of the Mass

is found the high point both of the action by which God sanctifies the world in Christ and of the worship that the human race offers to the Father, adoring him through Christ, the Son of God, in the Holy Spirit.

General Instruction of the Roman Missal, §16

The Feast of the Holy Trinity reminds us of the continuous work of God in our world and the work of the Church in giving faithful worship to God. We are constantly in need of God’s grace to be able to give appropriate worship to God. However, God is always attentively awaiting our response to his provident love as we bring the offering of our lives to the altar.

‘Sanctify by the invocation of your name, we pray, O Lord our God, this oblation of our service, and by it make of us an eternal offering to you.’

—prayer over the offerings
